BMKG urges public to collectively curb climate change

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in commemorating the 73rd World Meteorology Day, called for the general public to overcome the effects of climate change in a collective effort to prevent future hydrometeorology disasters and preserve the livelihood of future generations.
“Stern climate change control action is needed from all levels of society,” BMKG chief Dwikorita Karnawati said on Monday, March 20, 2023.
World Meteorology Day was established in 1961 to commemorate the World Meteorological Organization's creation on March 23, 1950. This year’s commemoration has adopted the theme "The future of weather, climate, and water across generations."
