International weather expert to guide expanded global operations

Dr. Hayes’ extensive weather industry experience includes a 28-year career in the Air Force, 12 years at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and 7 years in the private sector.

Huntsville, Al, March 5, 2018 — Baron, the worldwide leader in critical weather intelligence, working closely with our in-country partner Mazzak, a sister company of JMI group, announce that they have been selected to provide the Bangladesh Air Force with a state of the art Doppler Weather Radar System.
This radar is the first radar owned and operated by the Bangladesh Air Force. The Air Force will take delivery of a Baron 350,000-watt C-Band Dual Polarization radar, one of the newest generations of radar series produced by Baron.
EEC’s TeleSpace division, in conjunction with our regional partner Aviation Communications Limited (AVCOM), continues its international dominance with this month’s competitive award of a 4.5m Capella-R GOES-16 (GOES-East) ground station. Leading meteorological specialist Biral, in conjunction with a local aviation warning light manufacturer, has won the first wind turbine project in Canada to incorporate automatic warning light dimming using visibility sensors.
Located on Mont Sainte-Marguerite (MSM) wind farm, Quebec, the technology has been in use across much of Europe for many years as it greatly reduces the environmental impact of light pollution from the warning lights on nearby local residents.
The aviation warning lights have to be very bright so that they can be seen by aircraft from several kilometres away. However, in very clear atmospheric conditions (no low cloud, no fog or rain) these lights can have their brightness reduced, down to as little as 10% output, without compromising their effectiveness. Conversely, in foggy or poor visibility conditions, the lights’ brightness can be turned up to the maximum output to ensure that they can be seen.
